I like to work on a black background with white text, so I have to also have a white cursor. I can change it to white in the Preferences, but it only changes the cursor color for new documents I open - not on any old documents I open afterward. Here are the steps:

Change cursor color to white.
Create new document, cursor is white.
Write text and save document.
Close and then reopen document, cursor is black again (therefore invisible).

Since the preference only affects newly created windows, there's no way to change the cursor color to white in any saved documents that are opened.

This also seems to affect the font size, as well. I set it to 14, but it always goes back to 12 when I reopen an old document.
