User Forum > Text Somehow 'missing'

Love the application but I'm been fiddling with the colours in the preferences and now whenever I open a document all text is 'invisible'. The text shows in the lower word and character counts but strangely isn't visible. A 'select all' command, then 'delete all' then 'paste' has the text reappearing. All a bit of a disappointment.

Thing is I can't find a preference file for Diamond – is there one?

Can anyone help? Geoffery?

(posted this by email as well)

The preferences file is (user)/Library/Preferences/com.geopoeia.Diamond.plist -- delete this and all should be well after a couple restarts. I think what has happened is one of two things, either text color got stuck to page color, or the column width got stuck to Zero (most likely as I've seen that happen at least once).

Let me know what develops.

This has been happening to me, too. I deleted the preferences as instructed, but nothing has changed. Every time I open a document the text vanishes. It's still there, you just can't see it. Changing the page and text colors didn't do anything. Only selecting all, cutting, and pasting could bring it back, as Brad mentioned.

Just to chime in:

I have the same problem :(

This has started popping up in my usage as well and I'm looking into it. It might have something to do with the automatic column width option. I'll try to have an answer soon.

I have been using this great program for a while now, but just in the past week this 'invisible text' bug has been driving me crazy. Should I just delete Diamond and re-install? Also, I do not know how to delete preferences, yet from what it sounds by others, it wouldn't help. Has there been a solution yet. As a grad student, I use this software for all my research work, but have had to resort to other programs :(
