User Forum > Resizing the documents

My biggest problem with Diamond 3.1 is I find it hard to resize the documents. Any help would be appreciated. I noticed a (nice!) little diamond underneath the window but now it's gone—not sure it's normal or not.

I didn't know you can collapse a window with a double click. Neat! I've just noticed. Usually I'm not that slow, honest!

From my experience it seems easier to resize the document window if you just do it with an empty or very small doc, you can then set it as your default size.

Speaking of which, I've noticed an enigmatic message from Diamond in the Console:

2008-08-02 02:08:48.731 Diamond[16579] Could not connect the action takeIntegerValueFrom: to target of class NSTextField

Sometimes the little “diamond” underneath a window goes away and I can't resize the window. Not sure if it's normal or not.

The Diamond icon (the resize handle) should only disappear if you choose that setting in the prefs. This may be however an artifact of the 10.4 build (as I'm sure that console message is). If the Diamond is not displaying open the prefs and see what the setting is for "Hide Resize Handle". If it is unchecked and the handle isn't there we have a bug.

Where is this setting in the preferences?

On the left side, second checkbox from bottom.

Well, it was already checked by there's no resize handle.

Uncheck it and create a new window; there should be a handle there. It may take checking it on and off and relaunching each time to get the preferences file straightened out if that's the problem.

Bingo! This fixed my problem—well, this problem at least :P
